Brimfield Report Back

I had a great day at Brimfield yesterday with my mom and sister, making some client purchases, some personal ones, and of course just enjoying checking out all the great (and not so great) stuff!

The vintage dresses were awesome this year - and cheap!  Some were as little as $5!

Can't you just picture this on the Tory Burch racks?

And this one is so very Jackie O, though the spirit of the fabric reminds me of Hable Construction.  My mom laughed that she threw out a ton of her own mother's dresses that looked just like this.  Hey - what's old is new again!

I picked up this chenille blanket with candlewicking - just love that the pattern manages to feel both modern and country to me at the same time.

There were some other striking ones, too:

The selection of vintage aprons, tableclothes, hankies and fabric remnants was staggering...

I snagged this great remnant for reupholstering a chair in my little one's pink and orange room...

I was tempted to pick up this sign for over our new king bed (and by that I mean king mattresses on the floor)...  But then I remembered the look I'm going for in our master bedroom is sophisticated elegance, not campy sarcasm.

I did pick up these gorgeous (albeit in need of reupholstery) X benches for a great price!  I have a client in need, but I'm tempted to keep these for yours truly.

My mom bought me one of these fun license plate stars for the outside of the pool house.  Apparently, the dealer supplied Tommy Hilfiger a whole bunch of these for his 5th Avenue Flagship store.

At Brimfield, I always enjoy scoping out some "looks for less" based on the current trends happening in the design industry...

This piece reminded me of the hugely popular Edgartown side table by Oomph (shown below), for a fraction of the price.

These antique carts were not only gorgeous, but a steal for $300 a piece (compared to their counterparts at Restoration Hardware for closer to $1,100)!

Depending on your level of creativity and handiness, you could even turn one into a bed!

These petite roe antlers reminded me of those offered in the Suzanne Kasler collection at Ballard Designs...

Or, you could save hundreds on these funky mesh lanterns (which didn't photograph very well) in comparison to the one offered by Currey & Co. for $900.

Have a great weekend!

  1. There's nothing wrong with a little campy sarcasm! Looks like you had a great day! I'm jealous and looking forward to September.
