Quatrefoil Waters

It's no secret that I'm mad for all things quatrefoil in home decor and jewelry (read my quatrefoil roundup here).  So I went nuts when I saw the quatrefoil shaped pool at Megan Mullally's Hollywood home as featured in Elle Decor.

How sweet is this?  I love the juxtaposition of the rounded boxwoods surrounding the quatrefoil pool:

And the view's not half bad, either...

Here's a variation in the yard of a Pacific Pallisades villa:

Not breaking ground on your quatrefoil pool anytime soon?  These fountains provide a more budget-friendly option (well, kind of).

How are you keeping cool this summer?

  1. Deb,
Just wanted to say I've been enjoying your blog for a while now! Also, thought you might have some insight into my decorating challenge: I've got an old Victorian home in Virginia with lots of woodwork (not really my thing, we're renting) and I bring to it a mid-century aesthetic. Much of my stuff feels too masculine/spare in these rooms. So my question is: any thoughts on how to meld Victorian and contemporary? I'm thinking lots of feminine fabrics and more of the Anthropoligie look. I got these curtains from Urban Outfitters for my kitchen: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?itemdescription=true&itemCount=80&startValue=1&selectedProductColor=&sortby=&id=15353899&parentid=A_FURN_WINDOW&sortProperties=+subCategoryPosition,&navCount=56528&navAction=poppushpush&color=&pushId=A_FURN_WINDOW&popId=A_DECORATE&prepushId=&selectedProductSize=

Anyway, something to think about. If you have any ideas (especially for wall decor) I'd love to hear them. Thanks for reading my story by the way!
