Brimfield is certainly not for the faint of heart. There is so much stuff to weed through, I can easily see how this show is daunting for some folks. That's why you need a designer - to keep you focused and on target, so you don't bring home this:
And instead bring home something more like this:
I went looking for "European Country" furniture and accessories for my never-ending bedroom project and was sadly disappointed.
Here was the sign that most intrigued me....
Notice the chain link fence from which it hangs.. Yep - that part of the show was not yet open. Apparently the early bird does not get the worm!
But never fear, I managed to come home with some "finds" including this 19th century bowl that looks great on my dining room table:
And I did manage to find some knock off grain sack printed fabric that will look fabulous in our bedroom:
I adore this crazy brass ship bell and I have no idea where I am going to put it, but just could not leave it behind:
Sorry the photo of the other side is so lame, but I think you can read the lettering "TIPS". Hah!!!
I have been collecting Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates and found a few more:
They will look great on my hutch:
Here are some random shots of the fair:
As Karma would have it, over lunch I asked a woman I was sharing a shady table with if she knew of any Scandinavian/European antique dealers at the show and coincidentally, she has a shop called the Red Chair in Peterborough, NH and imports finds from France and Belgium. SCORE! I am hoping to have more on this story later!!
Happy Shopping!
Becky
