Wednesday, December 8, 2010's not just for Christmas Stockings!

Aside from the traditional red Christmas stocking or tree skirt, one fabric you just don't see that much anymore is velvet.  When I think of velvet, I think of the white throw pillows that sat on my grandparents' couch.  But other than that, I am hard pressed to think of another home featuring velvet.  But judging from the images below, perhaps it is making a come-back!

I don't know about you, but I am convinced by these swoon-worthy photos!

  1. I too wrote a blog on this luscious fabric and it can be found here

I am going to try and incorporate it into my home this year in some way...dont you love those dining room chairs?

  2. I love velvet....matter of fact, I am trying to figure out how to make a wall of velvet drapes behind my bed......drool deep chocolately brown velvet.

  3. I love velvet! I am putting orange velvet pillows in a client's family room, and I recently bought a mohair velvet sofa for our wine room. It's so luxurious ... and comfy!

  4. I am a convert! I adore it's luxurious, warm feel! Can't wait to use it my home :)

  5. I love velvet! I have it throughout my house!

  6. So glad it's coming back (and can't believe it was ever really out)! I'm a huge fan of velvet. So rich, so luxurious, so comfortable.
