In the Garden: Organic Weed Killer

Do you have a brick patio? Or other patio where grass and weeds grow in between the pavers like this?

Does it drive you nuts?  Would you prefer for your patio to look like?

Granted some people like the more natural look, but I prefer my patio to be nice and tidy. Are you concerned about spraying god-knows-what on an area that is heavily used especially by kids and pets?

Well I have the answer for you.

 

No sh*t.  It works. We tried it yesterday. If you pour boiling water on your weedy patio (watch your toes!) it will kill the weeds. This is what it looks like today:

It is a little time consuming boiling pot after pot of water, but it sure saved scraping up our knuckles using one of those horrendous little weeding knives.  We are planning on power washing and spreading more sand to fill the gaps this weekend.
