Book Club Recap: Holding Court with Holden Caufield

Last night, I hosted a group of exceptional women for our monthly book club meeting. Despite the fact that I'm known for finishing the book in the corner each month during the first round of cocktails, I really do take seriously the opportunity to read and discuss fabulous (or really sucky, depending on the selection) literature with intelligent and funny mom friends.

Some images from last night:

My found-for-a-bargain Hermes tray table arrived from Decorators Tag Sale just in time to help spruce up the look of my otherwise ghetto patio furniture.

We wined and dined and discussed The Catcher of the Rye;  I'm sure Holden Caufield would have found us to be a bunch of phonies

One of the things I loved most about the book was the vivid post-war New York imagery:

Do you love to read?  How about a vintage book page wreath for your favorite reading spot?

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. What an elegant affair...I remember loving this book back in highschool, it's definitely required reading to help us ALL work through our inherent human phony-ness, not to mention the typical angst of growing up. LOVE that you wove in classic NYC imagery...your message and blog was delivered to me on the fleet winged sandals of Hermes himself!
