Designer Spotlight: Timothy Whealon

If you've come across the of designs of Timothy Whealon, recently featured in Elle Decor and House Beautiful, you've been likely impressed by the serene and timeless spaces he creates so flawlessly.

Whealon's Hamptons house (we blogged about the foyer's raffia wallpaper here) adorned the pages of Elle Decor this spring, and the bloggers went wild!  And who wouldn't?  The light and airy rooms, infused with subtle punches of color, create the perfect vibe for a beach house.

Whealon is also responsible for one of my all-time favorite foyers, which he created for clients who bought the Manhattan apartment from Barbara Walters.  I particularly love the pairing of the unique floral Swedish wallpaper with the geometric Madeline Weinrib rug, and how the floor lamps on either side of the slipper chairs float so gracefully in the space.

I wouldn't think to combine the various green and blue tones Whealon used in the bedroom in the same Manhattan apartment, but it completely works, don't you think?

I love how Whealon uses texture and subtle pattern to warm the neutral rooms below:

Get the look!  The wingchairs, slipper chairs, and David Hicks rug that appear in the photos above are all available for sale through Decorator Tag Sale.  Check them out to shop for other furniture, rugs, and accessories hand-picked by Whealon and other top designers!
